From Mike’s first visit to see the layout of my existing kitchen and discuss a total refit, I was really impressed with his attention to detail, especially as I have a disability which needs considering when it comes to basic things like ease of opening doors and ease of using taps, easy to clean surfaces. Small points to some, but very important to me. When speaking about my wants and needs he never forgot this and was very helpful with his suggestions. When the kitchen was being installed he even brought 3 different styles of tap for me to look at. He and his two colleagues were a delight to have in my home, very pleasant and quite thankful that I managed to keep my young lively golden retriever out of their way! In return they were very good about letting me know when they needed to leave doors and gate open so I could make sure he couldn’t get out on to quite a busy road, and making sure too that they didn’t leave anything open unless really necessary. This put me at ease at a time when there was a lot going on and we established a routine where I would exercise my dog before they arrived to work and again later while they were here. He was happy and so were they. I’m mentioning this before the standard of their work because it was of huge importance to me that my dog was safe. So five stars for their consideration towards him, the sixth I have owned and none of them have ever had any kind of accident outside. As for the work, I can’t praise them highly enough. Or recommend them strongly enough. I ended up with a smart lovely looking kitchen that I know is better quality than the one I would have got from this big national company, for the same price I got stronger cabinets whose interiors were the same colour and not the brilliant white you get when you open the doors, a very nice looking good quality sink and a very modern very easy to use tap. They had to do a lot of work outside as well as indoors the first day here, in some awful wet weather, didn’t complain just got on with the job and it was clear from the start that all three of them took a lot of pride in their work and that whether you have a small medium or large budget (mine was certainly not large!) they will work as hard to give you a kitchen that you will be pleased with. They were thoughtful and when finishing for the day left all of their equipment in one area so I wouldn’t trip over anything. This is a lengthy review and might seem strange that I began this by talking about my dog’s safety, but when you have lost five beloved pets in the past, two in the last two years, when they are your companions because you live alone as I do now, and it can’t be helped that there will be organised chaos in your home for a few days, to know that from the outset all three of these never forgot the safety request I made at the start, even at times when they were mad busy, gave me the confidence that I had hired a fantastic independent company who go over and above to give you the kitchen you tell them you would like.

What a pleasure to find a company that is honest reliable and work to high standards. Mike and the Mersey kitchen team (Alvin, Paul & Andy), were friendly, professional and above all great at what they do. The craftsmanship of the joinery was second to none and the final result outstanding. From start to finish, Mike gave a no pressure consultation and planning quote that was focussed on what we wanted, all at a reasonable and sensible price (unlike many of the competition) Thank you Mersey kitchens great job
